Tips: What You Should Know Before Working With Any Web Designer

Spend some time thinking about what you want and need in your website. Most Web Designers will spend time discussing this with you, but if you have a basic idea of what you want, the Web Designer will better be able to provide more desirable results for you. What is your target market? What makes your company so special? What colors do you want? What sort of layout do you prefer?

Every Web Designer has a different approach to their projects, but there are several things that most professional Web Designers have in common.

A Contract Protects Both of Us.

You can count on:

Signing a contract before any work begins.
A contract protects both the Web Designer and you. It spells out all the details of the project. What's expected, how much, payment terms, etc. Most professional Web Designers will want a contract.
Paying a deposit before any work begins.
This is payment for the work that will begin right away. A good Web Designer just doesn't sit down and 'create' and make pretty web sites. A lot of research goes into a project before it even begins to look like a web site. A good Web Designer will do plenty of research so that your message can be communicated effectively and be graphically pleasing and easy to navigate at the same time.
Paying more for rush jobs.
People have unrealistic ideas of how long it takes to get something designed. There's quite a bit of research involved and if your job is a "rush", depending on the circumstances, a Web Designer may charge extra.
Paying more when you make changes not included in the contract.
Any changes you make that aren't errors of the Web Designer, are called author's alterations and some Web Designers may bill you extra for any you request. So go over your copy very carefully before providing it to your Web Designer. Also, if you change the actual specifications of the project, there may be additional charges. Most professional Web Designers will let you know what those extra charges will be before they begin the work.
Different designs of your website.
A Web Designer's worst nightmare is the client that really doesn't know what they want. It pays to do some homework first before contacting a Web Designer. If you know what you want or like, and need, your Web Designer is more likely to be able to design something that will work for you. Whatever the agreeable price is will include a limited number of different concepts for you to choose from, and if you want more, the price may increase some.
If you're not sure what you want, I will work with you and help you along the way. I enjoy brainstorming with people and feel confident that a solution will be found.
Making the final approval for your project.
When your project is completed, final approval is your responsibility. Your Web Designer will proofread everything, check all links, etc. and will ask you to sign an Approval Form or send your approval via email. Don't sign or approve anything until you are completely satisfied with the end result.

You can feel confident that I will go that extra mile to ensure that you are completely satisfied. However, if by some chance there is no resolution and something happens where you wish a refund, one will be provided for you per our Refund Policy.
